Memoirs and
Biographies
In the course of providing for their families, most people
devote a great deal of attention and energy to estate planning and money
management. Surprisingly few people, however, devote the same care and energy
to preserving and transmitting the history and traditions of their families or of
their own lives and careers.
They tell stories, but they almost never write them down,
and all too often, their descendants inherit what amounts to no more than a
haphazard collection of inscrutable documents and unidentifiable photographs.
In such a case, the family’s tangible legacy—wealth,
property, and material possessions—may have been preserved, but the intangible
legacy has not. This is a considerable loss, as people want to know who they
are and where they came from.
You can provide that knowledge to the people you love by
capturing your family’s background and traditions, and your own life experience,
in a book. Such a book is a unique, one-of-a-kind gift, and one of immeasurable
worth.
Such a book is also a gift to oneself. People find that telling

Other Nonfiction Books
Both individuals and organizations sometimes find themselves
in the position of needing to produce a substantial text on a certain subject.
It might be an institutional history, a training manual, or some other
distillation of experience and expertise.
However, a corporation or institution may not have the staff
resources necessary to take on such a task. In the case of an individual, the desire
to produce a book may coexist with a schedule that makes it difficult or
impossible to actually do so. Often, such projects are contemplated, begun, and
abandoned for the lack of time, expertise, or both.
We can solve that problem. Beginning with a discussion of goals
and objectives, we develop a plan. Then, working with the client in whatever
way is appropriate to their needs, we determine what the content should be, organize
it, write it, and do whatever else is required to produce a completed
manuscript or printed and bound book.
Special projects
In addition to book-length work, we also specialize in
smaller projects. Many organizations, even those with their own in-house
writing and editing capabilities, find it difficult to execute unexpected,
tightly scheduled jobs. We manage the project, working with the client’s own
end customers when necessary, shepherd it through approvals, and bring it to
completion.
Organizations may also find it difficult to schedule and
complete “wouldn’t it be nice” projects. As one of our clients recently said,
“If it’s routine, we do it automatically. If it’s an emergency, we do it
because we have to. If it’s important but not an emergency, we put it off until
the routine stuff and the emergencies get taken care of. All too often, that
means putting it off forever.”
